Nearing the end of her pregnancy, Helen meets Rachel in her birthing class. Something about Rachel feels off, yet they become friends after they keep running into each other in the Greenwich Park neighborhood. Suddenly, Rachel disappears, and Helen realizes that perhaps Rachel knew more about Helen’s life than she previously let on. As the police investigate, Helen uncovers secrets from her own past that connect her with Rachel and may explain her odd behavior.
Greenwich Park was a slow burn but had a unique storyline that kept me wanting to know more. After about halfway, I was hooked and sped to the end. Aside from Katie, none of the main characters are likable, yet this didn’t impact my enjoyment of the novel. Instead, it added some mystery to the plot, and I suspected everyone of hiding things from Helen! The ending was a touch too prescriptive, and everything was explained in detail. The writing was excellent and flowed well. Though it took some time to become absorbed, I enjoyed this one and look forward to more from Katherine Faulkner!
